Well-designed and super easy to live here:the elevator, the new baths and kitchens, the helpful, friendly front desk staff, the quiet, but well-connected neighborhood. Closer to the river, with all it's charms than most of our apartments. People interested in sports, or nearby nature might prefer this location

Peculiarities

This is a senor residence, which means that none of the residents are under 60. It gives the impression of being a nice apartment building. Their are a variety of options for residents (meals, classes) but, depending on your preference, you may choose this place simply for it's pluses as an apartment house in a good neighborhood. This is distinctly NOT a nursing home, as, it explicitly does not provide any medical services. That being true, if you don't like the notion of living around healthy active 60+, this might not be a good choice for you Your nearest grocery store is about 4 blocks walk and the nearest bakery (as well as the tram and the river are about the same. No great cafes or hangout sjust around the corner, though. If there was any critique you might have is that it attractive, but doesn't have much character. Also the kitchen is fine but not extensive, and has no real oven.

About the locale: This accommodation is in the neighborhood ajacent to La Doutre, a well-known and highly sought after neighborhood across the river from the hypercenter of the town. It is reachable by tram (3 stops - 8 minutes) from the central square. It is a modern neighborhood which while lacking the charm of the center, has some distinct advantages. It is quieter, it is nearer the large parks of the city and it is a very short walk (3 mintues)from a lovely stretch of the river Maine which is quite the hub of leisure activity. You have riverside cafes and restaurants, along with the bustle of all the Angevins who run, bike and boat. In some ways it it out of the way, but many people find it preferable. It's out of the hub-bud of center city but very connected. Angers has great public transportation, and the Nantes airport is reachable in about an hour.
